1. Introduction

BioAgentry ("we," "us," "our") provides a web-based platform for bioinformatics analysis. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how long we retain it. By creating an account or using BioAgentry, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the following information:

• Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text; it is processed using industry-standard hashing before storage).
• Analysis data: files you upload to run an analysis (including sequencing files and library/reference files) and the results generated from that analysis.
• Job/task metadata: records of analyses you have run, including timestamps and status, so you can view your past results.

Your email address also serves as your username for signing in.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and provide access to your account.
• To run the bioinformatics analyses you request and store the resulting files so you may retrieve them later.
• To send you essential account-related emails only (see Section 5).

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or uploaded data with third parties or external services, except as required to operate the core infrastructure of the platform itself (e.g., our cloud storage and compute providers, who process data solely on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes).

4. Data Retention

• Uploaded files and analysis results (including sequencing files, library files, and generated results) are retained for 90 days from the date of the analysis. During this period, you may access and download your past analysis results at any time.
• After 90 days, all uploaded files and analysis results are permanently deleted from our systems.
• After this deletion, we retain only your name and email address, for as long as your account remains active, so that you may continue to use the platform.
• If you delete your account, we will delete your name and email address as well, except where retention is required by law.

5. Emails We Send

We send you emails only in the following circumstances:

• Account verification: a single email at sign-up to verify your identity and confirm your email address.
• Email address changes: if you update the email address associated with your account, we will send a notification to your new email address confirming the change.
• Password reset: if you request a password reset, we will send a secure, time-limited link to your registered email address to allow you to set a new password.

We do not send marketing, promotional, or newsletter emails.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including secure password hashing, encrypted transmission of data (HTTPS/TLS), and access controls that restrict your data to your own account. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to request a copy of the data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information on our Contact page.

8. Sensitive Nature of Uploaded Data

We recognize that files uploaded to BioAgentry may relate to genetic or biological research data. We do not access, analyze, or use the content of your uploaded files for any purpose other than performing the analysis you requested. We do not attempt to identify individuals from uploaded sequencing data.

9. Children's Privacy

BioAgentry is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, individuals under the age of 18.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through a notice on the platform.
